 At the outset on behalf of Alia Convex and Jakarta Tourism
Authority, I would like to personally thank all the
exhibitors and visitors who participated in the
INTERNATIONAL ISLAMIC EXPO 2008 - The 4th Alrawda
Umrah-Hajj & Islamic Tourism, Jakarta, and also for
those who participated in the Bumitra Islamic Tourism
Forum 2008- incojuction with The 4th Alrawda Umrah-Hajj
& Islamic Tourism, Kuala Lumpur. Together we have laid the
foundation for a new dialogue and philosophy for Umrah –
Hajj, Hotel industry and Islamic Tourism in the 21st
Century.
This year has been good to us and as we move into the new
era, Islamic tourism is now a key sector of the Middle East,
Central Asia and Far East economies in particular to Umrah &
Hajj and “The International Islamic Expo” has grown
in partnership with the Travel associations, Hoteliers and
public from regional countries.
Indonesia has been one of the world’s best performing in
tourism and some of the new innovative projects announced in
recent times in the Middle East are launched in this event.
Against this background, it is events such as The
International Islamic Expo that will provide the necessary
impetus for the industry to move forward. Against this

The International Islamic Expo, is the world largest
and an primer Islamic travel & tourism event providing four
days of intensive meetings, seminars, press conferences and
social networking opportunities.
Now in its 05th year, “The International Islamic Expo”
is a key arena in which to unlock your business potential as
the event is firmly established as must-attend exhibition
for travel professionals in particular to Hajj – Umrah,
Hotel industry, Islamic Tourism and trade & Investment.
With the four years of consecutive success in Islamic

of Indonesia as the Largest Muslim Populous Country in the
world for Umra-Hajj as well as for Islamic Tourism
generating country.
The 5th INTERNATIONAL ISLAMIC EXPO 2009 International
Islamic Expo is endorsed by the Travel Associations from,
ASEAN Countries; PATA (Thailand) ASITA (Indonesia) AMPUHRI
(Indonesia) BUMITRA (Malaysia), AMTAS (Singapore) DHSB
(Brunei) BATA (Brunei) and fully supported by The Ministry
of Culture and Tourism of Republic of Indonesia.
On a final note, I am confident The 5th International
Islamic Expo 2009 edition of the event will result in
excellent business for the regional as well as international
sectors.
